RELIEF ASSOCIATION FUNDRAISER
The Fitchburg Firefighters Relief Association is hosting its 1st annual 5K run/walk on October 4, 2008 at 11:00am. Walkers step off at 10:00am, from Central Fire Station 33 North St. Fitchburg Ma. There is a 20.00 entrance fee with a BBQ after the race. The proceeds will be used for the Relief Assoc. as well as the Fitchburg Senior Center and the Public Library. Contact P.J. FIREFIGHTERS SHOW SUPPORT Fitchburg Fire Fighters have changed the daily work uniform to include a red shirt for Friday wear. With the go ahead from Chief Roy in place, the members began wearing the shirts on Friday, June 6th, 2008. The red shirt is to symbolize a unifed support for the Armed Forces. Many departments throughout the state are participating. The design, a Maltese cross with Fitchburg Fire and an American flag. Outside the Maltese cross are the words "SUPORT OUR TROOPS." in yellow.
